Interactive Moiré Field
A procedural Moiré pattern with mouse-driven local interaction in Unreal Engine 5.
Final Result
Overview
Two high-frequency procedural stripe fields form a Moiré interference pattern through a small frequency or angular offset.
A mouse-driven local interaction field influences the pattern in realtime.
Procedural Material System
The pattern is built from two procedural stripe fields. A small difference in frequency or angle produces the interference.
Realtime Interaction
Blueprint provides realtime control through a Dynamic Material Instance. Mouse input drives a local interaction field, with distance-based influence on the pattern.
Coordinate Space Problem
The coordinate-mapping problem was resolved through this sequence:
- World Position → Local Space
- Coordinate normalization
- Aspect-ratio correction
- Distance-based local influence
Blueprint Breakdown
Blueprint controls the Dynamic Material Instance in realtime for the mouse-driven local interaction.
